Presented by Featherstone Center for the Arts on Martha’s Vineyard TWILIGHT HAZE is only up during the month of April at the Feldman Family ArtSpace The pieces in “Twilight Haze” were created over 10 years spanning from 2013–23. Inspired by the reflection of light on the water as the artist swam at sunset, as well as dramatic storms at the beach, and even plant life encountered at the water’s edge, and beneath it’s surface.

Part of a new series on our human connection to nature.
The five of us met online in 2021 for O’Hanlon’s virtual “Collage to Paint” class, taught by Laurel Shear. She shared with us her method of using photographs as a springboard for creating abstract paintings. With Laurel, we explored color and composition in paintings through a variety of strategies such as monochromatic, analogous, complementary, triad, tetrad, values, shades, and understanding the color wheel. As Laura likes to remind us, “painting is energy”. Many of us took Laurel’s class “on repeat” and became comfortable sharing our work with each other. Some of us preferred paint, and others collage.
This exhibit is the first time that our work is now in one room, physically together. The pieces here represent both where we started with Laurel and where we are individually headed in our artistic journeys.
Sculpture, female nude seated. Red clay body with stains and oxides.
